Our Story

IWS was founded in 2012 by Scott Coopersmith with specific goals in mind:

  • To provide clients advice and resources in an independent, transparent and objective manner.
  • To provide a full service goal oriented experience that proactively prepares clients for their financial futures while avoiding unintended consequences.
  • To continuously provide clients a professional experience with a personal family boutique feel.

The relationships we share with our clients is the core of our business.  We are dedicated to building and maintaining long lasting relationships with our clients. We help our clients manage life events and achieve their goals through custom strategies, planning and coaching.  We focus on their overall financial wellness so they can sleep through all storms that may come.  We strive to be viewed as the financial quarterback of our clients lives allowing them to stay focused on what they most enjoy.  We help to proactively plan to protect and grow personal wealth regardless of age or financial situation.

We proudly specialize in Divorce Financial Planning.  For us, it’s personal - not just another service. Many of our clients are either currently going through a divorce or have already come through this challenging life event.  It is our mission to make the process as painless as possible and to make sure no one says “I wish I knew about that before.”  Scott is a divorced dad with 2 children and understands the unique challenges that co-parenting involves.

We also work closely with self employed/small business owners. It gives us great pleasure to assist like minded people who are seeking financial peace of mind through working with us.

Scott firmly believes everyone has a social responsibility to their community and society.  We carry it out in many ways and feel it is our social responsibility to help people proactively plan their financial lives.  He transitioned in 2007 to wealth management. In previous roles he spent many years watching others not paying enough attention to their financial situation or simply not knowing what to do. It inspired him to want to help others do better for themselves  and focus on their own strengths in life.
